Me: Tried a few (dismal) Oz & genreal MSN sites = 2/10
And revisited Guardian Talk. Not bad, not too bad. Lots of interesting discussions. = 7/10
But I missed A2K, so nothing was a reasonable substitute, really ....

I hung out at Taunton and the westcoastBuzz. Also spent some time at P45. The usual suspects for me - just a bit more time at each.

I'd forgotten what a terrific site BBC online is. = 10/10
And it was fascinating to read British & other perspectives on the Ukrainian situation. Excellent! Very Happy

Look at the www that I link to, MsOlga. Part of the BBC - actually my favourite subzone of the BBC.

Lotsa good recipes and chat at Taunton, msOlga. The political discussions there can be very provocative. Especially if you wander into the woodshed.

P45 is the funniest to me. It's like reading a forum in a foreign language.

Got in a huge pissing match with Magnum Opus (Ted's right hand man) over at tednugent.com's talkback board. He took exception to me wishing everyone "Happy Holidays". He prefers "Merry Christmas". I in no uncertain terms explained to him that the message wasn't meant for jerks like himself.

Ah, I see!

Yes, the political discussions were certainly complex!

I didn't check out p45. Recommended?

I like P45. It used to be Setanta's primary stomping ground.

P45.net - it's been around a long time - primarily youngish I.T. professionals. The other kinda interesting site in that vein is Icered. It's for IT pros in HK - a lot of Brit and Australian ex-pats. A few ex-Abuzzers have posted there for a couple of years at least.

Can you give any more Google clues to find these sites please, ehBeth? Not that I'm thinking of defecting, just curious.

The 'old' Abuzz is out of service, shewolfnm.

The software is still in use by the NYT, almost as a sampler, for a couple of Boston.com travel forums. I was quite surprised to find it still in active use, and will definitely be watching those forums for development.
