Get out of it

Is it correct and NATURAL to use "get out of it" below?

I’ve been suffering from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive disorder)
for a couple of years. I’m really trying to GET OUT OF IT but, believe me, it’s really hard.

Thank you.

@paok1970,
It seems acceptable and not particularly unnatural. I wouldn't question it if I heard someone say it.

I might say handle, cope with, deal with, or manage. I would say recover from but I'm not sure OCD is something you really recover from.

Be rid of it or rid yourself of it are options that might be closer to the sentiment youre trying to express with get out of it.

@paok1970,
Also consider "get over it." The phrase "get over" is commonly used to explain overcoming something like a cold or flu; it would be a natural fit for this informal sentence -- I'm really trying to GET OVER IT but, believe me, it's really hard.
