What does "TO BE OFF THE CASE" mean?
Would you please give me a few examples of how to use the above phrase/expression correctly?
Thank you.
Idiomatic/slang - to be removed from, or to leave, a team working on some task, originally a police investigation.
Joe was working on the robbery investigation, but now he's off the case.
