Help me identify some rocks i've found.

Hi everyone!

Here are some rocks i've found, but have no clue what they are.

This one I found a while ago in a limestore quarry i think and it seems to have multiple minerals in it, but I have no clue what they are.

These rocks I've found near the river. They are very shiny and look a lot like glass, but they are not as brittle as glass.

Looks like quartz (the grey ones) and obsidian (the black ones) to me.

In school we did an experiment with the one you said is quartz. We mixed pieces of it with some acid to see if it was carbonate, and indeed it was, but when I look up online quartz seems to be made of SiO4. I don't think it will produce the same results in this experiment, so it's most likely something else.

Hi,

The first rock seems to be made by grey limestone with a pactch of calcite crystals. It could also be dolomite, but as you say that it easily reacts to acid, I would go for calcite.

The second one looks indeed like obsidian!
