wats so special about seven?

seven days in a week
seven colors in light spectrum
seven notes in any musical instrument
seven bits store an ASCII charatter in a computer, 8th bit of the byte isnt used
seven groups in periodic table, the eight is inert dsnt react,
seven skies have been told in religions, seven heavens is promised for good, seven hells is what is feared.

It's that same thing that makes 1, 2, 3, 5, 11, etc.. special. It's a prime number. These other lower prime numbers all have little quips that go with them too ("3 on a match", etc..) because some earlier civilizations assigned mystic properties to prime numbers.

btw, the 8th digit in the ASCII set IS used. It's used for foreign language characters in the complete Extended ACSII set. Wink

Seven deadly sins, Seven Graces...
in the game of Dice, the sum of any opposite sides of the dice adds up to seven.
Seing how "Dice/gaming" is inextricably entwined with "luck", and how Dice-playing is an ancient practice...

There aren't seven colours in the light spectrum. There are six. There is no indigo. Its a fallacy.

The seven day week comes from the Bible where God made the universe in six days and rested on the seventh. The ancient Hebrews were commanded to structure their week in a similar way. This has been passed down through Christians to produce the seven day week we use today.

7 have had special status in mythology for millenniums, which would explain the cultural references. (days in the week, heavens etc.)

Apart from that, coincidence. With a little bit of research one could come up with a similar argument for any number.

You will need a calculator for this little mystery
Think of any whole number less than 700.

Get a pocket calculator and divide your number by 7.

Look at the answer on the calculator and add up the first SIX digits that appear AFTER the decimal point. (If there aren't any, then your original number was a multiple of seven - try again).

Now I am going to use my "psychic powers" to read the total you have just worked out.

Your number is: NEVES YTNEWT

Very Good.

Am on this Seven thing for quite smtime now…
… read carefully .. can u EXPLAIN THIS.

Seven musical notes can play any music..music being a complete language,
Seven colors mix to form white light..light being a strange phenomenon still not completely known to us..particle as well as waves,
Elements that react, have seven kind of valencies..i-e seven possible ways to deal with electrons and form all the compounds we know of,
Correct me if am wrong, but a recent study of a high speed electron fired in vacuum detected seven fringes,
By using seven bits of a byte u can save any data on a disk. Be it audio, video or text of any language….

There is smthing these examples share….
Can't u point out that seven fundamentals are arranged to complete the picture in every case cited above:

Music is an arrangement of seven notes,
Light is a mixture of seven bands,
Elements that form compounds are of seven types,
Seven bits can code for any data type on disks,

Its like seven type of bricks that can form any structure… like we have seven different days in our week.

No doubt abt the myths abt seven… the oldest known cult speaks of seven different dimensions of the earth(no concept of universe those days) that was way back, then Bible speaks of seven a lot, Islam teaches of seven fundamental believes. hmm strange....

and the other factor in 27 is 3 which is even more amazing!

[a number is a number, is a number!]

{oh, by the way, if you take 3, multiply it by 2, and add 1, you get..........}

[and you get it even if you add 0 (as many times as you like, 7 for instance)]

Seven colors mix to form white light..light being a strange phenomenon still not completely known to us..particle as well as waves, Alledged by man, The spectrum of light is continous. Any number of wavelenghts can be combined to create the perception of white.
Elements that react, have seven kind of valencies..i-e seven possible ways to deal with electrons and form all the compounds we know of,Read a bit down the periodic table and you get a lot more such groups. Start at the top and the number is one. 8 is closer to being the key number in this than is 7.

Can't u point out that seven fundamentals are arranged to complete the picture in every case cited above:

Music is an arrangement of seven notes, (manmade)
Light is a mixture of seven bands, (universal)
Elements that form compounds are of seven types,(1,2 and 8 hold a stronger claim, and more claims yet exist)
Seven bits can code for any data type on disks,(universal)

Its like seven type of bricks that can form any structure… like we have seven different days in our week.(manmade)

Men make up mythologies about the darndest things, and perpetuate them, as you are doing now.
