The bit about stopping live performances because of 'Bigger than Jesus' is new to me. I'd thought it was about the fact that they couldn't even here themselves playing anymore because of fan screaming and the general nuttiness of Beatlemania. This new reason sounds just as plausible.

Found this quote on the Revolver wikipedia entry:
