I know there aren't a huge number of NBA fans here, but there are some. This year's finals are making history for having the same two teams meet 3 times in a row. There is real rivalry and some bad blood between the two, which just makes it more promising to deliver some drama. I've heard a lot of people predict that the Dubs (Warriors) are going to run away with it, and I would love that, but I don't think you can sleep on these Cavaliers with Lebron James.
I really don't have any strong intuition about who is coming out of this as champs. Any thoughts?
@snood,
it's a toss-up...
i'll say Warriors in 7...
@Region Philbis,
If Durant shows up as hungry as I think he is, then I'd say the Dubs will d0 it in 5 or 6.
Maybe wishful thinking, but I like the Cavs for a full set of seven.
just putting this here...
@snood,
Golden State in six - for no apparent reason and with no research on my part whatsoever.
@Region Philbis,
now I'm racking my brain for who teamed with Shaq on the Dubs or Cavs...
@snood,
hint: Shaq played one season (2009-10) for the Cavs...
@Region Philbis,
Nooooooooo-o-o!!!!!!!
Well I'm just gonna have to hope that that particular fun factoid doesn't prove prophetic. Warriors!!!!!!
For maybe a decade now I'm a Basketball know nothing, literally, but I'll go for the Warriors in 6, just because.
Warriors in 4, because sweeping the whole playoffs would be awesome.

Not looking likely this morning.

If KD keeps this level of intensity, plus gets some input from role players like Thompson and Iguodala, I can easily imagine this being over in 5.
Wonder what excuse "The King" will have...
No NBA team has EVER come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a 7 game series. If the Dubs win Wednesday night, It's OVER.
Teams forcing GAME 6 after losing the first three games of a playoff series:
YEAR TEAM OPPONENT PLAYOFF ROUND
2007 Chicago Bulls Detroit Pistons Conference Semifinals
2003 Portland Trail Blazers Dallas Mavericks Conference First Round
2000 Philadelphia 76ers Indiana Pacers Conference Semifinals
1996 Seattle Sonics Chicago Bulls NBA Finals
1994 Denver Nuggets Utah Jazz Conference Semifinals
1962 Detroit Pistons Los Angeles Lakers Western Division Finals
1951 New York Knicks Rochester Royals NBA Finals
1949 Washington Capitols Minneapolis Lakers BAA Finals
1947 Washington Capitols Chicago Stags BAA Semifinals
Scoring a layup for anyone else in the NBA:
Beat your man to the goal with speed and finesse,pick up your dribble, take two steps and kiss it off the glass.
Scoring a layup for Lebron James:
Beat your man down on the way to the goal by lowering your shoulder and running right over him, pick up your dribble, take three or four steps and kiss it off the glass.
@snood,
this run by GS is all the more amazing when you consider that they're doing it without having Kerr out there calling the shots...
