You may be right about the POP3 access being a huge advantage, but I'm not sure what it means. I saw it on the gmail intro, and thought maybe it meant I could set my gmail account to be my main e-mail (on my desktop rather than online) but that was just a guess.
Care to explain? I'm more on the marketing end than the technical.
And, yes, I agree with not posting ones e-mail to the public. I have a "trash" e-mail account that I use for things that might be "iffy." But, that was also why I emphasized only appealing to the ones where nothing is wanted in exchange, AND clicking on the name to e-mail the person rather than posting a public message.
Look forward to hearing more about the POP3 access benefits and how it is to be used.

You guessed it right, but there's more more to it than downloading mails to outlook / outlook express on your desktop. You can access gmail in pocket pc's and cellphones.

Ah, I get it.
Maybe one day my internet business will be so huge I'll need to be able to download e-mail to my pocket PC or cellphone while I bask on the beach of some far off land...
Until then, at least I know now I can POP3 it to my computer.

how do you get invites i have some friends that want them but i dont know how to find them do u have to apply or something?
they give them to you after having an account for so long...
