We have a 4 year old Rat terrier that was fully housebroken. 4 months ago we moved her doggy door to another room and she had a few accidents then was fine. The last few weeks she has pooped on my daughters bed which is also where she sleeps at night. She has not urinated in the house. Each time she goes we launder the bed comforter so I don't think there is a residual odor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

KenC--

Welcome to A2K.

Have you had the vet check your dog for a physical cause?

I assume you take her out before bedtime and walk until she's absolutely empty?

When is she fed? Moving her dinner to earlier in the day might help.

By the time you discover the mess, she may well have forgotten who was responsible. All the same if you take a rolled up newspaper and smack the soiled bedclothes and cuss out the spoiled bedclothes--not the dog, the bedclothes she may conclude that such messes are nothing that a good, law-abiding girl wants to be associated with.

Good luck.
