Incognito mode does nothing to stop anyone from tracking you or using your data. The only thing incognito mode.does.is prevent people you share you computer with, i.e. your wife, from seeing your search history.

In Google Chrome it lets me read articles on newspaper sites which have decided I have read my quota of stories for the month.

@centrox,
Yeah... that isn't privacy. That just means the newspaper software is using cookies, rather than your IP.

Incognito mode does not ensure very much privacy. If you are trusting it, I strongly recommend you understand what it actually does...which isn't much.

Incognito mode doesn't prevent a website from seeing you ip or knowing your location. It doesn't stop people from tracking your search history or knowing what sites you visit.

If you ever decide to rob a bank, remember to turn off location services. Better yet, leave your cellphone at home.

Just drop your phone into an empty potato chip aluminum bag cutting it off by way of a faraday cage effect from the bag.
