Spending several hours stuck on one of Britain's busiest motorways is an all too common nightmare for many motorists.
But one man spent three months travelling the 234 miles of the M6 - and the 27 miles of the M6 Toll - and called it a "journey of discovery".
Television producer Mike Jackson, from Malvern in Worcestershire, has now turned his experience into a book called the M6 Sights Guide. More than 400 structures that can either be seen from the Carlisle to Rugby road, or lie close by, are detailed in the publication.
