Where to buy good and cheap HI FI

Dear All
I am moving to Sydney and I am a hi-fi buff. Many have told me electronics cost more in Australia, so is there a place that sells reasonably priced hi-fi eg dvd layers, speakers and amplifiers etc or hould I import all my stuff when I come?
