Ummm, yeah Cav...I go both ways with it; having tried to get it down....It's incredibly difficult and I respect Page for trading perfection for raw emotion. Not many 'slingers have the cojones to do that.

Hmmm, I suppose you're right. My favourite Page stuff is actually his work on Led Zeppelin III, especially the acoustic stuff. As for The Replacements, 'Hootenany' may have been a mess, but 'Tim' was a fine album for the genre. I especially liked 'Here Comes a Regular.'

Thanks for bringing up horrid memories of "Lay it Down Clown"....I had almost forgotten. Laughing

I think Paul Westerberg is a good songwriter who happened to have a crappy band. His stuff from "Singles" is really good indeed.

"Looking for Somebody" is a great track, so is "Dyslexic Heart". Dang...it's been a while, but wasn't the bald dude in The Replacements not quite "there" mentally, which caused a lot of problems? I'll have to check out Paul's solo album.

GODSMACK

"RUNNING BLIND"
from "the other side"

TONY ROMBOLA

You have to appreciate the honesty of this song's title.Tony Rombola's painful solo sounds like he played it after someone poked his eyes out with a sharp stick.

RATED:LAZY AND BORING

Ah, yes, "Singles." I live not far from the apartment bldg. featured in that film. Never been inside. An interesting artifact from a special time around here, before it all went sour...

DISTURBED

"DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS"

THE SICKNESS

Guitarist:Dan Donegan

Donegan pummels a repetitive alternating half-step pattern while singer David Draiman practices tropical birdcalls, and then the band falls into a min-numbing one-chord groove. The only thing disturbing about this song is the fact that a major label thought anyone would like it.

it feels me more with resignation because it's highly probable I'll spend a lot of my minutes on this thread.
