I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about these Wine Glasses,I know for sure they are Crystal,I also know that my Grandfather purchased a set of 6 during World War 2 and from what we think he purchased them when he was in Holland,he mailed the 6 back home to Canada but some stole 4 of them in shipping,the only thing I know for certain is that he said they were a set and each one was different from the other.

I'm wondering if anyone would know who the maker is and also what the value might be as we do not want to sell them but we have know idea if these are just cheap low quality or if they are of a better quality,I have also tried looking on the net for other forums that are only about glass and crystal can anyone tell me if there any fourms that are only abut glass and crystal.

@wade7575,
If you're sure they are really crystal, it wouldn't be what's called Depression Glass, but you might check that out, anyway.

@roger,
I'm certain they not glass they ring when you hit them with your finger nail and when you wet your finger and run your finger around the edge they sing the way crystal does.

A person who collect's crystal in my aera but is not a real expert more just a collector and buys what looks nice to him said he was certain it's real crystal plus another person who I know who knows a lot about crystal said it is real but neither had any idea at all about where it comes from or the value.

@wade7575,
I take your word about it being crystal, then. The pattern was suggestive of what is called Depression Glass, which is why I mentioned it.

It is best to take them to an antique dealer and get them valued.
I live in northern Europe and coloured wineglasses are out of fashion here. I have some shaped beautiful and made of crystal - nobody wants them.

@wade7575,
Bohemian crystal perhaps? There's no etch mark on the bottom to help you figure out who made the glasses?

Check Ebay if you haven't already. I searched for "Bohemian crystal coloured glasses." There are some examples of sets and single pieces.

Also, you might find them on one of the china/crystal replacement sites.

Echoing what saab said:

They only have a value if someone wants them, and the young people today don't seem to value it, including our own adult kids and those of our family and friends.
