Fans of fibbing are honing their dishonesty skills for the upcoming contest to decide the world's biggest liar.

The tall-story-teller title is up for grabs at The Bridge Inn in Santon Bridge in the Lake District on November 18.

An all-ticket crowd will see contestants trying to outdo each other for outlandish tales in order to be called The Biggest Liar in the World. A previous winner tried to convince the local audience that the Lake District was formed not by ice or volcanic action but by large moles and eels.
