Single people are having more trouble finding reliable partners than good second-hand cars.
Singles are finding partners that are increasingly high maintenance, have a less than honest record on previous relationships and an inability to give their true age. More than half (53%) of single people admitted their partners had proved less reliable than their vehicle, the survey from used car company Network Q found.
Psychotherapist Christine Webber said: "Choosing a partner clearly has similarities with choosing a used car. Unfortunately, when it comes to romance, there is no guarantee, no service history and no log book to tell you exactly what you're getting."
