One of my favorite songs. One hit song by a guy that was was too close to being another Elvis.

From just googling 'Terry Stafford background singers.'

I think those ladies sang on "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis. I couldn't find anything tying any of them to Terry Stafford or his song "Suspicion". I couldn't find anything tying Chips to Terry. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. Do you have a link?

Nashville Edition, The

A group of country music background singers, joined together by Joe Babcock, who are perhaps best known for their accompaniment of Elvis Presley on his gospel albums, and for their twenty-two year stint on the television variety program Hee Haw. The Nashville Edition's discography includes work with a litany of country and pop stars including June Carter Cash, Elvis Costello, George Jones, Dolly Parton, Johnny Paycheck, Charley Pride, Charlie Rich (Behind Closed Doors), Terry Stafford ("Suspicion"),.... the girls being Wendy Suits and Dolores Dinning.

Wendy Suits would have been too young, I believe, when "Suspicion" was recorded. Wendy was born in 1951.

The girls sing background on "Suspicion" are probably Dolores Dinning and Ricki Page.

Bonnie Raitt and K D Lang sang background for Roy orbison. I love watching those old Black and white videos of his concerts.
