A judge in Cook County, Illinois, has been removed from the bench, at least temporarily, for using the "F" word twice while hearing cases.
Judge Stanley J Sacks was said by his boss, Chief Judge Timothy C Evans to have committed "an egregious lapse of decorum and dignity". The erring judge has agreed to submit himself to anger-management counselling.
The outburst came when he found a Chicago policeman guilty of reckless homicide in a road accident in which a teenager was killed. The judge lost his temper because he thought the police colleagues of the accused man had treated him with kid gloves.
