A man was caught on camera smiling and waving as he rode down a high street on the roof of a car.
Darren Moore jumped on top of the Vauxhall Cavalier and "surfed" as Carl Evans drove along the main road in Blackwood, south Wales, then turned around and travelled back again.
Moore, 22, was captured on the town's CCTV cameras laughing and waving at passers-by, Blackwood Magistrates were told.
He had run across the road, dashing through a lane of traffic to jump on to the roof just after midnight on July 9 this year.
Moore, of Pontllanfraith, south Wales, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting Evans to drive dangerously.
He was fined £150, disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to take an extended re-test.
Evans, 26, also of Pontllanfraith, admitted dangerous driving and not having insurance.
He was fined £300, banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to take an extended re-test.
