Just my own opinion, but inanimate things don't give me much awe. Inanimate things seem only like some prime mover getting ready for the main event of animate "life."

Actually, the fact that "awe"someness seems to be where this thread took off to, I believe that not everyone would consider the same things awesome. If it appears so on this thread it might just reflect that those that choose to be on A2K are actually quite a homogeneous group when it comes to seeing awe. I think there are those that don't like seeing the vastness of the universe, and their awesomeness comes from more mundane things, like sports plays. Just my opinion.
