Christmas comes early

Council workers have taken down a collection of decorative Christmas trees - after putting them up in a town centre nearly two months early.

A team of "over enthusiastic" Aylesbury Vale District Council employees "got their dates wrong".

A long-standing tradition in the Buckinghamshire town is not to put up any Christmas decorations in the market square until after Remembrance Sunday - November 14 - as a mark of respect.
