A crocodile that became a Hong Kong celebrity by evading capture for months will be put on public display at the local research institute it now calls home.
The croc -- named Pui Pui, or Precious One -- has been held in quarantine at the Kadoorie Farm and Research Institute since it was snared in June after making headlines by foiling hunters from Hong Kong, Australia and China for seven months.
The five foot croc, which was first spotted in a polluted suburban creek in November, generated intense public interest while on the run. After evading dart guns, harpoons and a number of traps baited with chicken heads and other meat, the croc finally walked into a snare set out by the Hong Kong government.
