A 96-year-old library book which vanished before turning up at a flea market in South Africa has finally returned home.

Inverness Sketches 1901 to 1904, a reference book from the city library, was bought by a Scot at a second hand bookstall at the market. Stuart Thomson, 63, who emigrated to South Africa in 1971, then decided to return the book on his next visit to Inverness - where he originates from.

Carol Goodfellow, library officer for Inverness Library said: "We're absolutely delighted to have the book back. It is lovely that someone from Inverness walks to a bookstall in South Africa and finds a book on their native town, and then brings it back to the library he used when he was a boy. It was really out of the blue, totally unexpected

just reminds us that there ARE nice people left in this world.

A good thought for the day.

Now let's all go out and do some good deed for another.

Very Happy
