from bonehead of the day:
A Tacoma, Washington woman with brain cancer was arrested for buying
pain medication. The pharmacist reported her to the police,
suspecting the Percocet prescription was a fake.
"I was in hysterics crying, very upset and very embarrassed," said the
woman. "They could have checked my records. I've had the same medicine
every month."
"I told him [the arresting officer] I had brain cancer, and I had a
medical information card inside my wallet," she said. "It didn't
matter to him. He didn't believe anything I was telling him."
Want more? She was released, without her medicine, and only after
agreeing to attend a session at a drug treatment facility.
How awful for the woman. If she has the strength, she should make a big stink about it!
Well, I feel safer knowing that this fiend was kept off the streets.
Does this mean we'll soon be seeing "Just Say No to Pain Meds" commercials, touting how buying prescription drugs is supporting terrorists?
blacksmithn, i think it might be more like "if you get brain cancer you are just abeting terrorism"
Solution:
Sue the pharmacist and the chain store that the pharmacist works in.
It will never happen again!
and the police? and the court that sentenced her to drug treatment?
Hard to believe but I guess things like that really do happen.
