Italy's capital threw an all-night party, with an estimated 2 million people flooding central Rome for events including outdoor concerts, art-gallery shows and movie screenings.
This year's celebration -- called "White Night" for the open businesses and lights ablaze -- went off with any major hitches.
Last year's White Night ended in a nationwide blackout that left stranded revellers bewildered around town.
