A motorist's bail was revoked when he showed up drunk for his preliminary hearing on drink-driving charges.

Emerson Moore, 46, of Reading, Pennsylvania, was awaiting the hearing when he got into a row with a policeman.

Moore, who had driven himself to court, was then found to have a blood-alcohol level higher than the legal driving limit.

Judge John Patton revoked Moore's bail and said later: "I asked him what he was thinking and he said, 'You told me I could drink at home.'"
