Here comes the blind commisioner
They've got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the Good Samaritan's dressing
He's getting ready for the show
He's going to the carnival tonight on
Desolation Row

Hmm. I thought this game would garner interest. Well, I will just let it ride a while. Perhaps another will take interest and revive it some day.

edgar, it's a marvelous game, but it's just one of those things that you either know or you don't. I'm trying to think of a way to modify it so that more folks have a chance to participate. Perhaps if we all were to just post a song or poem that we know by rote. Would that be all right?

Might make for confusion, but, I suppose we could try it. Nobody gets a new car, ala Oprah though, for participating.

Oh, No! Don't tell me that. Very Happy I'm awaiting news of the fate of my Caddy Seville. I could use a boost.

Well, my friend, it's your thread..let's stick with Poe:

Twas many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived, whom you may know,
By the name of Annabel Lee,
And this maiden she lived with no other thought,
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child in this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love,
I and my Annabel Lee.
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven coveted her and me,
So that her high born kinsmen came and bore her away from me,
To lock her up in a scepulcre in a tomb by the sounding sea.

Oops...I think that I left out a verse. I'll try again later.

edgar, this is a good exercise in memory.

Try the Harry Belafonte song of it. It's much easier than the poem. Heh heh.
