@snood,
Just passing through, on the way to Midway, Philipines, Japan and Hong Kong. We were escorting the Enterprise.

@snood,
I just recently returned from a ten day stay at the Hale Koa. We were there over the Fourth. The Friday night Hilton fireworks are fantastic. They launch them from the beach very close to where the Hale Koa and Hilton beaches join.

I spent a month at Tripler as a patient back in '75.

@edgarblythe,
When our son was young, the Enterprise was docked in Alameda, and they had open house, so I took my son to see it. That's when we lived in Fremont.

Was the mean nickname, "Crippler" circulating back then?

@snood,
On our last visit to Hawaii, we did a tour with Trafalgar which included three islands, and they included a tour of Pearl Harbor. I have already visited the USS Arizona memorial and the USS Missouri, but it was included in our tour. I'm glad we were able to visit again, because I would never have done it on our own.

If it was, I was not aware of it. I was in the pulmonary ward. Most of the patients in there were in the final stages of lung cancer...a very depressing place.

@mesquite,
I bet it was. I didn't like the nickname, and felt it was not deserved - met some fine physicians and techs.

@cicerone imposter,
We were the lone destroyer to escort the Enterprise back from Japan. At one point, we had a mock race with the carrier. We were churning along at 40 knots. The Enterprise ran off and left us. We went around by way of Dutch Harbor and Seattle, on the route in. Hit a submerged log coming down the coast and had to dry dock in Vallejo. The rats in Vallejo ran around at will. I was stationed to keep them off the ship, but they out maneuvered me almost every time.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't they have those cones on the ropes to anchor the ship?

@BroRando,
It is a world after this earth that is a place which gives anything you desire , any single item you think or wants to have it will be given to you ,you will be able to get all of this on the basis of good deeds what you do in this world.Never hurt any one ,help the needy that is the best reward points to enter into heaven.

@aliyaaduval45,
What if in Heaven you desire to hurt someone?

@Smileyrius,
Heaven is God, the felt experienced presence of God. It is that essentially. If you you love God and desire to hurt one of His Children you are not in Heaven and that would prove it.

@Smileyrius,
I've often wondered about that. Will people have free will in heaven?
Also, will people in heaven age? If not, will heaven have reproduction?

@cicerone imposter,
Free Will is utterly, totally, completely unfree in one aspect and that is what makes it free. It MUST seek the good. Now it can be wrong it what it takes to be the Good but that is an entirely different problem. Now in Heaven the Absolute Good and Source of All Good is God and we are witnessess of that, freely. Do we want something else then ?( that is your idea of freedom) No !! Before a mountain of Gold I cannot prefer the $1000 bill at my feet. Does that make me unfree. NO.
