I would imagine its still 0, otherwise the zero of a field isn't a true zero.

I thought the x ^ 0 = 1 holds for all x in a real number field except the zero of that field. All divisions by zero are always undefined!

With imaginary numbers I can't remember if i ^ 0 = 1 or -1 (I expect its -1), must check this!

Wait till you discover the exotics! The world of wierd and deficent numbers (e.g. 70 and 16), unhappy, cute, sociabale, amicable pairs, narcissitic numbers, fortunate primes etc. There's alot of strange Wink numbers out there!

After poking around on the web, it appears that 0^0 is undefined.

Stuh - why is that? Surely the zero'd power of a unity generator of a field could be any of the unity generators of the field. Ooops - checked it your absolutely correct!

markr - it has to be undefined given 1/0 is undefined.

Its undefined 'cause {forall X|x^0 == 1} but that doesnt make sense since {forall X| X * 0 == 0} so its a contradiction, hence its undefined.

Zero to the Zero Power
According to some Calculus textbooks, 0^0 is an "indeterminate form." What mathematicians mean by "indeterminate form" is that in some cases we think about it as having one value, and in other cases we think about it as having another. So, yes 0^0 is undefined or does not exist.

The Weasel has an income which is five eighths that of Bratty Catty.
Bratty Catty's expenses are one-half those of The Weasel and Bratty Catty saved 40% of her income.
What is the percentage of her income that Bratty Catty saves?

This is soooooooooo confusing....

40% (at least that's what the problem states)

Are you sure you don't need to figure out what percentage of income The Weasel saves?

Hello
There's missing information in this question.
If not, then 40% is the answer.
