A man was taken to hospital after he was bitten while trying to re-capture an escaped iguana.

Dino, who is five feet long and weighs 22lb, escaped from its owner Cheryl Owen's home in Garston, Liverpool, and was spotted at the top of a Leylandii tree in a neighbouring garden.

Mersey Fire Service attended, but, following advice from the RSPCA, decided against trying to capture the animal. However, Darren Green, who had been watching the drama, volunteered to scale the tree and catch the reptile.

I heard that on the night of the Iguana, there was a huge barbecue, and several women were bitten, not just Cheryl. Mmmm.....iguana.....<drool>

Actually yes. My folks brought over a crapload of eggplant, ground beef and onions. Here is how it started: They went to a friend's place for dinner, where an apparently rather heavy dish of stuffed eggplant was served. Mom took up the challenge and figured I could do a better job. So here I am, with all this eggplant...and onions....and ground beef. I predict three dishes coming out of this weird bounty. Eggplant caviar, simple dip, a stew, and maybe a stuffed eggplant as well. Wink

Yech, I can't stand the dreaded aubergine! I think I'll take that whole sheep over a stuffed eggplant.

I have all the spices. I was thinking of maybe going Morroccan for the stew, and Italian for the stuffed eggplant, but time will be a condition. That would involve making two sauces, and I am still doing crap at the computer besides A2K. The dip is ready though, and tasty. It's just roasted eggplant, tahini, olive oil, sea salt and cayenne pepper, not too much.

I have no problems with time, but thyme frequently gives me the rounds of the kitchen.

I was thinking of adding some chickpeas and mint to the stew, with North African spices, maybe a little cumin, saffron, ginger, cinnamon...a bit of a sweet/spicy thing, in terms of 'going Morrocan'.

I'll have too much thyme on my kitchen floor if I'm not careful!

An interesting thought, marketing thyme in jars shaped like hour glasses.
