A four-year-old boy survived a 30ft fall over a cliff onto the beach below unscathed.

The boy was walking along the cliff path with his mother at East Beach, West Bay, in Dorset, when he plunged onto the shingle shore, Portland Coastguard said.

A coastguard helicopter took him to Dorset County Hospital, in Dorchester, with suspected spinal injuries, but he was later released after being pronounced "fine".
