My daughter used ombre raspberry, and the day after she dyed it, started wearing a pony tail, and after her first hair washing, washed out a lot of the dye from wear her ponytail site. Is the hair tie partly at fault, since they are tight to begin with? I know it is possible she used too hot of water to wash her hair, and let the shower hit it the entire time, and that she dried her hair too vigorously.

how long did she wait to wash her hair after colouring? most colourists recommend holding off as long as possible -a minimum of 3 to 4 days.
never ever ever under any circumstance use extremely hot water to wash hair, coloured or not
also - avoid any heated drying process and no rubbing with towel while drying
another trick is to sure the hair isn't too clean before colouring
the ponytail likely didn't make much difference
