Actually, they look like part of chambered tomb - stones like that are to be found quite frequently in (Northern) Europe.

Callanish Stones

Walter, there is a chambered tomb, added, possibly after the first stones were aligned. From the website: "Callanish has two alignments of particular significance - the short rows, with the western row aligned towards the sunset at the vernal equinox, and the Pleiades rising in line with the ENE row at Beltane (early May) when the rows were constructed around 1550BC."
