What does it refer to?

Context:

RT is a twitter handle.

Without seeing the original twitter post, it's hard to be sure but it could be https://twitter.com/RT_com

It means retweet. Go onto Twitter and you can retweet (e. g. share) any public tweet, even from someone you don't follow.

retweets don't show up as RT on my account (different settings?)

Retweet is one on me, but Dish RT (280), along with CCNEW (279, China) and ALJAM (216, Al Jazeera) are surprisingly non-political. I tune in one of these when all the U.S. stations are tied up with Trump, auto accidents, or family shooting

"RT" is a manual convention. When you click the rewteet button it does not do this, people add this when they manually copy and paste a tweet to indicate that it is a quote.

I tried changing some settings but it wasn't changing the retweet formulation I saw.
