Leo Laporte and his gang of tech gurus challenged themselves and their audience to find a complete stranger on Twitter and make her or him famous. They're borrowing Conan O'Brien's Twitter a-nobody-to-a-somebody challenge by announcing the Twitter name of a complete stranger on his show. Allegedly, Conan's target Twitterer has reached 15,000+ followers up from about 3 before her name was launched on late night network television.
Quote:
On Sunday, March 7th, during the live taping of this episode of TWiT, Leo Laporte "pranked" one Twitter account by sending all to a random account, @LisaTickledPink and following her. Within 20 minutes, she received more than 2,000 followers.
Kevin Rose chose the random Twitter account by searching for “i hate technology”.
So the TWIT (
This Week in Tech) gang has chosen
Name
Lisa Etheridge
Location Auckland, New Zealand AKA
LisaTickledPink.
Just to let you know, Digg founder
Kevin Rose had arbitrarily chosen the random Twitterer based on her second tweet:
Quote:I hate technology!!!!
