Firefighters rescue guinea pig from Action Man jam

LONDON (AFP) - Firefighters in Birmingham, England swung into action to rescue a guinea pig called Heidi after she got stuck inside an Action Man toy car.

Heidi's young owners appealed for help from Northfield fire station after they tried but failed to cut her out of the little vehicle -- in which she was jammed between the engine and footwell -- with a hacksaw.

"We looked at some of the heavy cutting gear and then decided that undoing the four screws on the bottom would be appropriate," said station office John Jordan of the West Midlands Fire Service.

"Out she popped," he added. "She appeared to be perfectly fine after her ordeal."
