I don't particularly want c.i. to leave but this sort of announcement thread turns the dial a bit .

This man, living in an intermediate time zone, had not experienced the speed and heft of spammers, and he is insulted to deal with 62 seconds. He takes the mods as stupid, mods who spend a lot of time culling **** from this website, most volunteers.

If he wants to leave, so it goes.

I wasn't necessarily agreeing with him. I was just trying to find a little humor in the situation -- and I do mean "little."

Some people around here -- and I don't mean you, osso -- are too tight. No sense of humor.

I have to agree with wmwcjr, in real life I've made my share of "I'll never go to this place or do that thing", only to change my mind when the alternative becomes an even bigger pain.

It's fun to watch somebody else make the same reversals.

Have you been a moderator who deals with spammers?

I'm not one, I'd be a horrible moderator, but I completely sympathize.

I've not only seen four pages of spam in very few minutes, a mere hour east of CI, I think I've seen more..

This stuff isn't funny, and CI doesn't have a clue. If the mods put on the brakes, they have good reason.

I've been a mod, but not on this board.

I'm not saying CI is right about the 62 seconds, I just hate to see the guy go, that's all. He's known many of these folks since Abuzz, and to leave over this......

Just seems a shame.

Thanks, mark. I used to organize a2k meets some years ago, but people don't seem interested any more for some reason. We had meets in San Francisco, Houston, Austin, and New York. I've met members in the UK and Germany.
My wife and I are going out to walk at a shopping center in Mountain View, our neighboring town, so I'll continue when we return.

I'm taking my dogs down Oxwich bay (Gower) tomorrow, with my friend, Mark - My malamute/labrador/wolf-hybrid bit him (post warning) first time out and my boxer/staff threw him in the mud. I sense it will be less hysterical tomorrow, but I'm taking a camera (for my own perusal) just in case:)

One of my friends from the UK is Lindsay Hamilton, the singer. We met on one of her many cruises, and my buddy and I invited her to have a cocktail with us when she walked into the bar. That was many decades ago.
When I wrote to her a few years ago, she said she still remembers me.
