I am applying to Master's program in Development Studies. One of the requiremens is to provide a writing sample. What do you think, is it possible to provide a piece of my recent coursework or I should write something new?

It would be difficult to say. Is the writing sample intended to show your mastery of the English language, or of the principle core studies of your discipline?
