Glass knows when to keep its cool

A new kind of "intelligent glass" that blocks out heat, but not light, could slash the cost of keeping cool in summer, scientists claim.

Its special coating reflects the sun's infra-red rays when the temperature inside a building climbs above 29C.

Light at these wavelengths causes heating, so on a sweltering hot day room temperatures are reduced by up to 50%.

Hey Col:
Did you hear about the tv man interviewing people on the street? The question was: What's the greatest invention? First he asked a woman in a business suit. She said:" It's got to be the airplane, it's made the world so much smaller". Next was a young man who answered: "Definitely the internet, now everyone can be in touch at any given time".
Finally the interviewer spots a drunk reeling along the sidewalk. "What's the greatest invention sir?"

The drunk pauses, stupefied and answers with a hiccup. "Why it gotta be the thermos jug" " The thermos jug"? the tv man queries. "Yeah..ahh..you put somethin' hot in it an' it keeps it hot. Then if you put somethin' cold in it ..keeps it cold......

how do it know?"

cortito - is that a black coffee with a tiny splash of milk?
i never heard that word before i went to argentina this year and im sure thats what they called such a thing there...
hehe over there they called me colito Smile
mm wont work cos the reason im trying to stop tea is for the caffiene and having coffee is like going from the frying pan to the fire..
im drinking herbal tea instead...there are quite a range of flavours now Smile

I don't like thea. One of my friends though - an Englishman Mr. Green - can't live one day without thea. The amount of thea he drinks ... it's just unhealthy!

In Miami, the Cuban "cortito" is the preferred jolt of java and every gas station has an espresso maker and little styro cups. If you get a chance to visit Miami....it's another world.

You're right, Col, too much tea is not good, but I am not a substance lasher. You'll work your way into less..
