Makes me sad as he was one of the greatest keyboardists in rock and in music, generally.
I don't know if this trend of losses is greater than other years but it sure seems so.

A school friend first introduced me to ELP via the first album - which I loved (Tank, Knife Edge, Lucky Man). He loved Brain Salad Surgery but I only ever loved the first album.

In retrospect I like Greg Lake more than Keith Emerson (having King Crimson in your CV trumps The Nice).
Carl Palmer was just the Jean Claude Van Damme of drumming.
