A Vietnamese man in his 60s has become a celebrity by locking himself in a box filled with scorpions for more than 12 hours.
Pham Ro kept more than 2,000 scorpions as pets at his home in southern Vietnam.
Ro, who lives at the foot of a mountain in Binh Thuan province, performed the stunt to set a record.
He was stung dozens of times during the ordeal but suffered no ill effects.
It might not be true to say that the fleeting mouth of fame kills all it kisses, but it certainly is stupid. Well, that's what one gets when all these freaks think that anything is worth it when it comes to money...
Did you ever see that show, 'The Word,' with Mark Lamaar, about ten years' ago? And the whole 'Anything to get on TV' thing. I then found it disgusting but incredible; now it's just disgusting.
yeah i had the misfortune to see bits of this show while i was round at friends houses..
hehe like being on tv makes you a better person
yeah right...
well rather them than us eh
Not me Col Man, if it has a stinger, I'm history.
LOL
And speaking of "stingers" am watching the remnants of Hurricane Charley rolling towards me--in a detached sort of way.
Knowing that we'll get a lot of rain and a little wind, it makes me sad for all those who lost their lives down in Florida just yesterday.
yeah i was just talking on messenger to a fellow a2ker from florida
apparantly they got it bad...
Poor people. I wish that there were some sort of effective evacuation plan for those most susceptible..
yeah it seems odd to me now they got all these sattelites in orbit and they saw what it did to cuba they didnt do something more to prevent the loss of life..still the irony of the world today is there has to be a disaster for anyone to get up and do something about it..
anyway from what im reading on the news and ive just been talking on msn messenger to letty the a2ker from florida and she says it all happened so fast that i think it took everyone by surprise
the poor people on the trailer/caravan parks were worst hit
i think they are doing all they can to help now...
Col Man, even the most sophisticated tracking and trajectory planning can know all the foibles deep in the heart of a hurricane--it's more like whimsy.
Those folks were NOT supposed to be in any real danger, once Charley took it's hiccup, it was too late for them to leave.
So now we grieve.
