ATHENS (Reuters) - Americans aren't the only ones being told to behave at the Athens Olympics. Greek soldiers are being instructed to refrain from waving their arms at strangers.
"It could be considered offensive to people of other nationalities," the military said of the very Greek habit of waving hands during conversations.
A military guide, published in part by the Greek media on Wednesday, offers other tips on political correctness, such as: foreigners should never be called foreigners. They are international guests.
American athletes get a 75-minute briefing on arrival at the athletes' village in Athens, including a talk on how to behave and a reminder that they are guests at the Olympics.
