What exactly do I have here

Almost 30 years ago my mom and I were hiking behind the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) campus and found this rock. I've held onto it since then. It's oblong shaped with a piece of rock jutting about 1 1/2" out of one end and a small hole on the opposite side. There is a hard white substance (resembles the shell of an egg) where the piece of rock is coming out and around the small hole. Any help identifying what I have here would be extremely helpful.

PS. please don't ruin my childhood dream that I found a fossilized dinosaur egg haha

Hopefully I linked the pictures properly.....

It really looks like a Geode

To be sure, you need to cut it.

If it looks like this then it's a geode or a lithophysa:

@timur,
yeh seems to be some kind of a concretion. As timur said , its gonna take some careful cutting to see its innards. Some of thee concretions can be outstanding with agate or even precious opal as the silica base..
