My sons buns! (It's a nick-name!)
dutch raisin buns ... they are special !
I think I know what you're talking about, hb! I'm
Dutch by heritage, and I think my grandma actually used to make them! Wish I could remember the Dutch name!
rum-soaked raisins
Googled it, hb! - 'Oliebollen'!
yes ! the best "oliebollen" are served on holland-america line ships. a junior waiter comes around with a basket of hot "olliebollen" while you are waiting for you breakfast; a nice touch. they also serve the best dutch raisin bread - the funny thing is, it usually is not on the bread buffet, you have to ask for it and they'll sneak you a slice as if it's contraband. hbg
gin soaked raisins ... with ice cream on the side
... a dessert on HAL ships on "dutch night".
gin soaked raisins ... with ice cream on the side
... a dessert on HAL ships on "dutch night". tasty !
Reminds me of "trash cans" in college:
rum-soaked fruit & juices with the "clear" alcohols...all poured into <ta-dah!> a trash can!
