Dear friends
Here is a question of my exam and Ill be appreciated if you help me with it .
Question: Your list might include being head of a ............-raising campaign .
Answers : charity - found - money
I chose the word ( found) but my teacher said it was wrong and the correct word is (money ).
Ill be glad to hear your ideas .
@hamoon,
If the second choice had been 'fund', I would have picked it. Since it is spelled as 'found', money is the only possible choice.
@roger,
Fund, definitely.
I would guess that 'found' was typed in error on the exam sheet.
@Lordyaswas,
And another student learns the fallibility of his elders. This is sad.
There seem to be a lot of teachers of English who are not native speakers of English, judging by what we've seen here over the years. W. B. Yeats ran a series of questions for quite a while from a workbook he had. It seemed to me to be painfully obvious that the author of his workbook was not a native speaker of English.
@roger,
Amen to #.....055 and #.....065 above. Too oft the case
Dear friends
I appreciate all .
The word( found ) was my mistake and as you mentioned its (fund).
It seems I chose the correct answer .
By the way according to my teacher the question was chosen from the book :
Developing Reading Skills
@hamoon,
Now, it seems typing skills is next.....
Just joking.
