Picture the relationship of the earth relative to the arc of solar orbit.
You are in New Jersey at noon.
Suddenly the earth begins rotating north to south.
Assuming you survive the resulting geological catastrophes. . .
Can you picture the difference in your perception of starset that might take place if your position on earth moves north (earth moving north to south towards the 'night' side) or south (earth moving north to south towards the 'day' side)???
In our current perspective, we always see heavenly bodies setting in the west.
But, does the earth turn from west to east? Or east to west? One always replaces the other.
So the answer to your question, IMO, is it depends.
