Hiccups are no laughing matter

Some people may think getting hiccups is funny, but for Larry Roberts, it's no laughing matter.

The Pennsylvania state MP has been in hospital with hiccups since July 19 and doctors cannot find a cause or a remedy.

"They can't stop the hiccuping. It is 24/7," said his spokeswoman, Doris Perno. "Physically he's fine, except for that. It will stop for maybe a half-hour, then it starts up again."
