Wondering if you guys know how to get local channels from another area on my Direct TV?
Here is the issue: I have Direct TV AND cable just so I can get the local channels. However the picture sucks on my cable. I am going to keep that cable, but I want to get CBS, NBC, FOX etc. on my Direct TV for the upcoming football season. I don't care what city they come from, just as long as I can get the picture in a clear digital format.
I live in a rural community in southern illinois. According to the Direct TV zip code search I should be able to get all but one channel over the air, but that is horseshit.
I have heard that you can tell Direct TV that you have moved to another city, but I don't know what the best city would be for me to "move" to. I am 4 hours south of Chicago and 2 hours W-SW of Indianapolis.
Any thoughts on how to get around the system and get a clear picture?
