(I like you a lot)
Putting on my music while I'm watching the boys
(So I do what you want)
Singing soft grunge just to soak up the noise
(Blue Ribbons on ice)
Playing their guitars, only one of my toys
(Cause I like you a lot)
No holds barred, I've been sent to destroy, yeah
Pink flamingos always fascinated me
I know what only the girls know
Hoes with lies akin to me
I, I see you're going
So I play my music, watch you leave
(I like you a lot)
Putting on my music while I'm watching the boys
(So I do what you want)
Singing soft grunge just to soak up the noise
(Blue Ribbons on ice)
Playing their guitars, only one of my toys
(Cause I like you a lot)
No holds barred, I've been sent to destroy, yeah
Velveteen and living single
It never felt that right to me
I know what only the girls know
Lies can buy eternity
I, I see you leaving
So I push record and watch you leave
(I like you a lot)
Putting on my music while I'm watching the boys
(So I do what you want)
Singing soft grunge just to soak up the noise
(Blue Ribbons on ice)
Playing their guitars, only one of my toys
(Cause I like you a lot)
No holds barred, I've been sent to destroy, yeah
Live to love you
And I love to love you
And I live to love you, boy
Live to love you
And I love to love you
And I live to love you, boy
Nothing gold can stay
Like love or lemonade
Or sun or summer days
It's all a game to me anyway
(I like you a lot)
Putting on my music while I'm watching the boys
(So I do what you want)
Singing soft grunge just to soak up the noise
(Blue Ribbons on ice)
Playing their guitars, only one of my toys
(Cause I like you a lot)
No holds barred, I've been sent to destroy, yeah
Putting on my music while I'm watching the boys
Putting on my music while I'm watching the boys
He hit me and it felt like a kiss
I can hear violins, violins
Quote:
Ultraviolence
Lana Del Rey
He used to call me DN
That stood for deadly nightshade
'Cause I was filled with poison
But blessed with beauty and rage
Jim told me that
He hit me and it felt like a kiss
Jim brought me back
Reminded me of when we were kids
This is ultraviolence
Ultraviolence
Ultraviolence
Ultraviolence
I can hear sirens, sirens
He hit me and it felt like a kiss
I can hear violins, violins
Give me all of that ultraviolence
He used to call me poison
Like I was poison ivy
I could have died right there
'Cause he was right beside me
Jim raised me up
He hurt me but it felt like true love
Jim taught me that
Loving him was never enough
This is ultraviolence
Ultraviolence
Ultraviolence
Ultraviolence
I can hear sirens, sirens
He hit me and it felt like a kiss
I can hear violins, violins
Give me…

@hawkeye10,
Ya want some lyrics which glorify male dominance, enforced by violence, that it, Hawk? Here, try this one, it's called "(Your) Southern Can is Mine:"
By the legendary bluesman, Blind Willie McTell, of course.
I'm not sure what the script is, but a lot of pop music from young artists is pretty anti-feminist. Whether Selena Gomez just wants to look "Good for You" or Arianna Grande is singing about how her ass is better than your current girlfriend's, a lot of pop music is about women desperately competing with or degrading other women in order to get a man's attention. You would do better to talk about women who don't do this, who expect some equality from a relationship.
Lana Del Rey is several steps above the pop princesses in being un politically correct. I read her in an interview saying that she cant be bothered with feminism, nor with charges that she is an "anti-feminist".
Not song lyrics but this from Mary-Louise Parker caught my eye for lack of being politically correct
Quote:
In this age of rah-rah sisterhood, a book in praise of men feels almost out of step. But Parker isn't so much interested in the Zeitgeist. She abhors social media, doesn't keep up with the news ("Bill Cosby from The Cosby Show?" she says, confused, when the subject of his rape allegations come up), and is impervious to bandwagons. "I'm not crying huge tears for women in Hollywood. I'm just not," she says, on the topic du jour among many of her peers in the industry. "'Cause, sorry, I kind of think that women have it bad in the south of Ethiopia. Just carry 25 buckets of water or chop down eight trees. Have someone cut off your clitoris and feed it to a pig. I don't feel sorry for me at all, and I sure as **** don't feel sorry for you." She winces. "Sorry, that was a little harsh.
Really like that she wrote a book (which is supposedly very good) in which she is very unapologetic about liking men. I do like it as well when others agree with me that there is a lot of messaging in this society to the tune "men suck!", which the Elle author was kinda working up to.

Crazy -
Cause life imitates art
If I get a little prettier can I be your baby?
I was in the winter of my life, and the men I met along the road were my only summer.
At night I fell asleep with visions of myself, dancing and laughing and crying with them.
Three years down the line of being on an endless world tour, and my memories of them were the only things that sustained me, and my only real happy times.
Scene set up: pops is trying to dissuade son from going to far into a relationship with a sexy american (they are brit's)piece of ass (opinion of pops and son) that he has been ******* for 6 months, she way younger than him, she not much beyond legal .
Quote:
Now listen to me , this might be the most important piece of advice I will ever give you
pause
American women may be fun and Victoria Secret when you first bed them but as soon as they get their claws into you they stop ******* and start eating and the only ass you gonna get is a fat one. American women invariably become spouters of self help platitudes, their addiction to designer labels, dieting on frozen yogurt....they are over all nasty vain creatures WHO DON'T ****!

I am noticing more than ever how subversive art sometimes is today. OMG, some of this stuff must give our minders heart palpitations. We live in a society where I could read today " It is now official, the Republicans are now the largest hate group in America" and still this stuff makes it to our ears.
Not for long if the liberals ever get full control of the government.
