Trying to find my father

I have been searching for my birth father since 2013, and am at a stand still. I found some information after my step father died, but not enough. I know his name, that he was in the Army and Vietnam. But their marriage certificate only shows the year he was born, and i don't have his social security number..Any advice would help. I have no living relatives that can help.
